The installation crashes while GRUB is being installed. This might be due to an UEFI BIOS bug...

Is there any way to install UBUNTU on the Asus eeePC 1215 ?

BIOS/UEFI is Aptio version 2.01.1204 by American Megatrends. This seems to be an issue affecting this particular hardware/firmware version :( found older report of the same issue askubuntu.com/questions/70025/… – user43180 Jan 23 '12 at 3:24

You should use a specific version of UBUNTU to install on your Asus eeepc since the CPU is atom. You can download the ubuntu-10.04-netbook-i386. It's designed for netbook like ASUS eeepc.

Thanks for the feedback, but the Asus eeePC 1215b has not an Atom CPU. It has an AMD E-450 (dual core x64). – MaSc Jan 4 '12 at 18:47
