I have the same problem. Some hotels, schools, restaurants and others gives "free" Wi-Fi Internet access for their customers. They tell you Login, password and some names of they Wi-Fi networks. Something like our_net1, our_net2, our_net3.
But how really work such services?
you see our_net2 and our_net3. You must choose one of them, our_net2 for instance. Then you must open browser and manually enter Login and password to establish connection. After some time, maybe 2 minutes later, in best case, in a half of hour, Internet turned off. You must type in browser window your Login and password again. Few minutes later networks our_net2 and our_net3 disappears, but appears our_net1. You must launch browser and enter your Login and password. Then, 5 minutes later... please, read above what to do. If you have a happy to find one of network administrative person of such companies, their identical answer is - your computer needs to be repaired. In any part of the world and for any computer, excluding Android devices.
For Android devices such kind of problem can be successfully solved using Wi-Fi Browser Login and the same apps.
I tried to find how to solve this problem in Linux systems. But I get only recommendations as: "You always have ability to write a script, which will... You can use xvkdb, in theory, it, maybe, can help you to..." and the same.
I believe there is no problems to do such things for advanced users. Maybe, one of them can write for ordinary ones detailed how-to? Please, something like: "download from..., open terminal and print there..., make file and put it to..., open in Firefox Edit - Preferences - tab..." and etc. In simple non-advanced human language.
