It used to work fine, but then one day it just would not show up. I've tried using all the USB ports. The memory stick works on other computers, and other USB devices work on this computer.

Anyone know what is up? I am using Ubuntu 11.10.

We need a little more information. What file system ? Plug in the devices and look at the output of dmesg|tail , see if you can mount it manually. – bodhi.zazen Dec 29 '11 at 4:59
