I've just updated ubuntu to the latest version, restarted to complete the updates. I waited for it to complete the updates and then ubuntu won't start giving me a black screen with many failures and dependencies problems. I restarted it and want to recovery mode and tried to repair the broken packages and it returned some strange errors related to loaders.cache or something like that. I tried to reboot it but it just freezes in a black screen without any text on it. I pressed to turn off button to turn it off but it just didn't work, so i removed the battery in order to take it down, then tried to turn it on again and it didn't work. I removed the battery again, plugged in the charger and it just doesn't work.

Any ideas?

PS: when i plug in the charger, the blue LED stays on for about 5 seconds, then it turns off.

So, to clarify, you won't even get a BIOS splash screen? – William Dec 22 '11 at 14:58

Sounds like an update gone bad but if it does not boot at all then I suspect a hardware problem, perhaps a hard drive failure, hard to say. Please post the error messages. – bodhi.zazen Dec 22 '11 at 17:10
The laptop doesn't even turn on. – flowerpower Dec 22 '11 at 21:48
