There are so many reasons why wifi might not work - but fortunately most of them are not a problem most of the time! If you can provide a little more info it will help others to diagnose your problem. For example, I had a similar problem which I posed on a different forum here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1893823 To produce the same information, please open a terminal and type the commands sudo lshw |grep -i wireless sudo lspci and post the results here. Otherwise, you can also try searching this forum http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=336 in case someone has already given a similar problem its solution. Rick |

ifconfig -a? Can you access the settings in the network manager, or is it only the connection attempt that is failing? – niklasfi Dec 20 '11 at 22:44
