Pressing PrintScreen simply doesn't work.

Nothing happens. When I go manually it's OK but not with PrintScreen key no matter which desktop environment I'm using.

It was working on 10.10 before upgrade.

Can you try this method with gconf-editor? askubuntu.com/questions/30701/… – Tom Brossman Dec 18 '11 at 11:54
Probably a better method to try is this: askubuntu.com/questions/72386/… – fossfreedom Dec 18 '11 at 12:07
it was already configured as it should be in gconf-editor. In compiz I grabed key shortcut again and it still doesn't work. – user1079002 Dec 18 '11 at 12:36
search for keyboard in dash - launch keyboard and look at the shortcuts - screenshots. what are the two print screen keyboard bindings set to? – fossfreedom Dec 18 '11 at 13:37

This might be a stupid question but maybe you have a fn button and you need to use that in combination with printscreen button? If not, What about adding a custom shortcut binding your printscreen button and the command that you used for taking a screenshot

I have fn button and used it well in 10.10. I don't think here is the problem with fn button because it is working with sound volume which is fn+F11 on my laptop. I assigned in compiz new keys Ctrl+p and stil doesn't work – user1079002 Dec 18 '11 at 15:25
I'm not sure about assigning keys via compiz, but what about assigning it via gconf-edditor? In apps/metacity/keybinding_commands – shookees Dec 19 '11 at 9:44
yes, it stays there just like here askubuntu.com/questions/30701/…. – user1079002 Dec 19 '11 at 9:55
yet you're able to apply the same command via terminal? Sounds like a bug – shookees Dec 19 '11 at 14:26
i did not try from terminal, but it was working from accessories>take screenshot – user1079002 Dec 19 '11 at 16:25
