I've been using fluxbox on my netbook, and have been very pleased. That is, with everything but one feature. I would really like it if I could use fluxbox with the added functionality that when I use alt+tab it will show me the windows I am switching between. (As it does in Windows/Mac/GNOME/KDE/Xfce/...). Is there some app I can install that would do that? Or is the only resort to use a different GUI?

That's a basic function it should be able to do it, openbox does it i don't see why fluxbox doesn't by default have you look through any keboard shortcuts. – Uri Herrera Dec 11 '11 at 6:47
Alt+tab switches between windows, it just doesn't give me that small window in the center of the screen where I can see small icons representing the different windows, and see how I toggle between them. – Nicole Dec 11 '11 at 6:52

Umm.. do you have compiz enabled? You can use the Super + Tab switcher. – William Dec 11 '11 at 15:42
Nicole, that is a feature of many Window managers, i guess that the one you want is the Compiz alt+tab which is only available in.. Compiz.. – Uri Herrera Dec 11 '11 at 19:35
