This is a more open-ended question. I currently use Chrome on Unity, but need a second browser and am wary of just accepting Firefox (I removed it previously because it's a resource hog).

This should be on the forums, we don't do open ended questions here, just ones that can be answered, please see the FAQ: askubuntu.com/faq – Jorge Castro Nov 30 '11 at 19:48
Firefox have lately gotten better with memory optimizations, fixing memory leaks, hardware acceleration, etc. I would not consider version 8 a resource hog. Maybe you use some really crappy extensions/plugins? – Anonymous Nov 30 '11 at 20:41
There are other good web browsers such as Midori, Kazehakase, Arora, Epiphany, etc. – Anonymous Nov 30 '11 at 20:42

Questions on Ask Ubuntu - Stack Exchange are expected to generally relate to Ubuntu, within the scope defined in the faq.

I am also using Chrome and I am 100% satisfied with it. I am not sure that this lies because of Unity, but it integrates just super. I would recommend Firefox as a second. I sometimes need to boot to Windows for some trivial work, one of them is to log into one of my online banking accounts which only supports Internet Explorer. Just yesterday I was wondering if it were possible to install IE into Ubuntu :)
