(linux noob here)

I have been trying to resolve this all day, my university uses Secure W2 to control access to its wireless network, I have a copy of the security certificate but I cant seem to install it correctly, all the examples refer to .crt file types and they don't seem to work with .cer files. Can anyone guide me through the process of installing a .cer security certificate?
