I'm currently running the Firefox Beta channel. I installed it manually, and not through a PPA (so that I can also have Firefox Stable). However, the firefox-globalmenu package is only compatible with Firefox Stable. How can I get Firefox Beta to use a global menu?

Not an exact answer to you question but if you fancied being adventureous and run the nightly version of Firefox (Firefox 15) instead of the Beta, available from the Mozilla teams PPA then both versions play along nicely as the package name is different firefox-trunk-globalmenu –  coversnail Apr 27 '12 at 17:14
