How do I get a clock on the locked screen of GDM?

Using 11.10 (I have a bug in LightDM).

When the screen is locked, it shows my wallpaper and the dialogue for the password. I would like to see the time and date there, even when nobody is logged in.

Like the lockscreen concepts of mobile Oss? –  Uri Herrera Nov 27 '11 at 8:40

@UriHerrera Not as big as the whole screen, rather small and unobtrusive, like you see it in a small bar on the top of the main login screen of GDM. –  jubel Nov 27 '11 at 12:59

I don't think GDM can do that, that's why they added LightDM it's more flexible for theming. But you can use KDM or SLiM which i think can do this. –  Uri Herrera Nov 27 '11 at 17:24
