I am getting this error while executing sudo apt-get remove postgresql-8.4

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

According to this thread:

gksudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/info/postgresql-8.4.prerm

After opening the file add exit 0 after #/bin/sh -e and try to remove again.
