I need some help please. Since I have used Ubuntu I cannot run any video. I downloaded the latest Ubuntu Oneiric and even downloaded the recommended Adobe flash player and I am still stuck.

From where did you downloaded flash and what version?, they both (youtube and grooveshark) can use html 5 so, if it doesn't work maybe use that, also have you tried other sites? do they play flash?. and what browser are you using? – Uri Herrera Nov 20 '11 at 18:35

Assuming you r not using chromium

 sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
 sudo apt-get install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

then it should work.

if you want to use some other browser then try updating your restricted extras.

 sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

(this command will also install gstreamer and other usefull extras)
