The title pretty much says it all: is there a screensaver for Ubuntu (11.10) which makes use of the webcam? I don't mean does surveillance, or motion detectors, etc. I mean incorporates the webcam images into the screen saver?

Do you mean a screensaver that shows a live view of the webcam, or a screensaver that displays pictures taken by the webcam? – Aaron Nov 13 '11 at 20:02
Why would there be such a screen saver? – mikewhatever Nov 13 '11 at 20:05
@mikewhatever: Because such screensavers exist on other OSes - I think Timelapse is the name of the one on Mac (though it is pretty basic). – Steve D Nov 13 '11 at 20:22
@Aaron: I mean one which incorporates a live view of the webcam (either via pictures or video) into the screensaver itself, perhaps performing some effects on those pictures/video. – Steve D Nov 13 '11 at 20:23
It seems to me that this kind of screensaver would use a lot of system resources, and run very slowly if you had a lot of background tasks or resource-hungry applications running. – Aaron Nov 13 '11 at 20:29
