I have set-up a DSL PPPoE connection, over my cable modem, connected to my laptop via Ethernet. I have saved the user name and password and set it to connect automatically. This works well when ubuntu starts and i am connected to Internet. But if I try to disconnect and then reconnect, the connection wont be established. I have to restart or log out and log in, in order for ubuntu to establish the DSL connection. Any idea why this is happening?

I am on ubuntu 11.10 64 bit.
