So i tried installing Ubuntu 11.04 alongside windows 7 not using wubi. since wubi gave me enough headaches after the 4gb issue thing. i lost all my work. now i am back to start and wanted to install it along windows.

i followed everything. the installation was successful. after i rebooted, it booted straight to windows. without giving any option to boot into ubuntu. can anyone please help me. thanks :)

i preferred removing it.

@kapitanluffy - You should really decide which method you wish to install ubuntu with - if you are sticking with the Wubi install close this question as it is no longer relevant. –  Mark Rooney Nov 15 '11 at 8:17

Make sure you have installed your bootloader to the appropriate device. I have a 200 MB partition cut out for /boot and that's where the bootloader gets installed. Make sure it's installed on your primary harddrive
