I have the following problem:

In KDE I cannot hear any sound from the headphones (Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000). When I open the audio setup all sound devices are correctly recognized and by pressing the test button I correctly have sound from all of them.

But when I change the master channel to the headphones and try to listen to a song or watch a movie I still have sound only from the speakers.

This is very annoying and does not happen in GNOME, so I assume it has something to do with the KDE sound handling and not the ALSA. Any ideas are welcome.

PS. Switching to GNOME is not a solution... :)
