It seems as if any time I attempt to assign a keyboard shortcut to gnome-terminal's 'new tab' command it works intermittently. Understandably the Super+t (which is my default) gets intercepted by unity but it was working for some time. Even the default fails. Now all of a sudden it isn't again; my unity shortcut was changed to .

Any ideas what could cause this?

Does super+t open trash on your system? – RolandiXor Nov 4 '11 at 15:14
What did you do to change the keyboard shortcut initially? Have you tried repeating it and checking it works as you expect? If you can change it to your preference I suspect after an update the system changed your keyboard shortcuts to the defaults. – Mark Rooney Feb 28 '12 at 4:56
