i have a VGA that required Intel i915 driver, i got this once i install ubuntu 11 it detect it and the display working fine, but i'm using 10.04 and need only to upgrade the driver, i need help to instruct me how to get this driver and install it.or if i can copy this driver from ubuntu 11 to 10.04 to get it to work. im new to linux.

EDIT 1:

output of lshw :

product: 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller

and the driver is configuration: driver=i915 latency=0,

i got this when i run ubuntu 11 only

EDIT 2:

I've tried upgrading to the Natty kernel and the recommended PPA from this question and answer:

How do I install the Intel HD 3000 video driver on Ubuntu 10.04?

i got a squeeq screen like stuck game screen and no longer see any thing there, i revert it by booting from old kernel

EDIT 3:

  1. i upgrade the kernel to 2.6.35 and seem it's detecting the driver, but unable to get resolution i got only half of my screen with black of half of down part , you can't see any thing.

  2. i can verify it's ok if login in safe mode and check lshw.

  3. if i login using safe mode it's working perfect with limit resolution.

EDIT 4:

I found if i boot from live CD Graphs working fine and perfect while from normal hard disk boot is not
