I installed supertuxkart. I played this game in fullscreen. After close the game my screen resolution has been changed. It is happening every time when i play any game in fullscreen mode. Is it a bug or normal thing?. Windows can recover default resolution after close any game.

Thanks in advance

it's a bug, report it at launchpad please. – Alvar Nov 3 '11 at 6:29

It's possible a bug in your video driver or Ubuntu. If you have a good video card, try to use the same screen resolution in the game like your desktop.

that solution will never work in long terms. – Alvar Nov 3 '11 at 6:33
If it is a bug in the video driver it's in every Linux video driver ever built. – Jared Rosenberg Mar 8 '15 at 18:45

You should try:

xrandr --auto --rotate normal --pos 0x0

or if you can get into your "start menu" look for the word "display". It should be under system or prefereneces.

I'm currently looking for a way to set this to a hotkey. So you might want to checkout this
