Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

I've been backing up to a 4GB usb drive. After upgrading to 11.10 I got "no space left" error in deja-dup. I deleted the cache file, but that didn't help. Since my home folder is < 4 GB, I thought I'd try to reformat the drive. Couldn't do that in ubuntu, because a backup drive is "in use" as soon as it's mounted. So I reformatted the drive on my windows machine, and then I was able to make a new back-up.
