Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

I installed 11.10 and finally have two of my monitors working. I have a dual radeon hd 6950 setup with the two working monitors in the first card and the third in the second. It worked fine in Windows however I can't get it to detect the third monitor. Catalyst does show and unknown monitor but I have no clue how to enable it from this state.

All help would be appreciated. I am trying to get setup for physics research.

I woke up today. Catalyst can see the third monitor and I keep lining them up however I cant move windows to it. Also, windows now fill up the first two monitors instead of just one. The Ubuntu displays option doesn't show this monitor. –  willow bothwell Oct 29 '11 at 16:21
Ok I got it working finally. I had to do the gksu amdcccle every time i wanted to change and keep doing that. Then I had to activate ximera. –  willow bothwell Oct 29 '11 at 16:45
