Everytime I open the dash to look for a program, the cursor lags when I move it around. Any reason/help with this?

This is caused by the blur effect.

Firstly install CompizConfig Settings Manager:

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

And in Ubuntu Unity Plugin, under Experimental, Change Dash Blur to either Static Blur or No Blur.

Try restart unity. Run command: unity --replace – Evan Oct 26 '11 at 5:43
