Possible Duplicate:
Can I set the power indicator to show battery percentage instead of time remaining?

I'm use to not having to click on the battery icon to see what my battery percentage is, like on my Android phone. Is there a tweak/mod/hack to do this on Ubuntu 11.10?

See pad.lv/811777 where this was reported and it was thought that users would rather see the time remaining than see a percentage, despite what other desktops do. – Jeremy Bicha Oct 22 '11 at 21:51
Are you using default unity shell or did you installed Gnome shell? – Jester Dec 30 '11 at 16:30

I use 11.10 and installed Docky which includes a battery monitor showing %. It only works when on battery power and when charge falls below 98% but is does work and I find it very useful. Maybe this is of help to you?
