Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks

  • Not currently, what are you using to run the installer (putty?) Oct 21, 2015 at 15:57
  • Yes, I use PuTTY. I updated the post with some logs

You need to configure PuTTY to use UTF8 as it's encoding.

  • Remote character set to UTF-8, still not working.

  • can you paste.ubuntu.com the latest ~/.cloud-install/commands.log? Oct 21, 2015 at 16:09
  • paste.ubuntu.com/12886651

  • It still has the incorrect encoding, UnicodeEncodeError: 'latin-1' codec can't encode characters in position 0-47:. I found thegreyblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/… which may help you set the right encoding with putty Oct 21, 2015 at 18:24
  • @gangstaluv More elaboration of your answer would be nice. You should explain how to configure PuTTY, for example.
