Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have done a fresh install of 11.10 64 bit, everything is fine bar a little detail: whenever I start my mail client (claws mail 3.7.9, in case this is relevant) the window is minimised [so I have to press the Super key to go to overview mode and then click on the mail client window to make it appear].

How do I tell the gnome-shell to open a given program with its window at normal size?

Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.

@BlueXrider - Yes, I am still looking for an answer, but I don't understand why should I repost the question, on SE sites reposting is considered bad practise... is there a specific policy on AU? – mac Mar 30 '12 at 9:27
locate claws-mail.desktop (in ~/.local/share/applications or /usr/share/applications) and post its content here. – jasmines May 18 '12 at 13:03
@jasmines - With the upgrade to pangolin the problem solved itself. I would be interested in a general answer though, if there's any! :) – mac May 18 '12 at 18:29
