I updated my ubuntu to 11.10 this morning. after doing this my there is no audio at the 3,5mm output. If I plug in the jack the internal loudspeakers are muted, so that function is allright. I never had this problem before. I'm using ubuntu on a hp elitebook 8440q. perhaps you can help me , thanks

I was the same problem.

I don't do much things to get it work again.

I think it was only plug my headphone and unplug it for the sound back on.

Ps.: I've install "gnome-shell 3" and get to use that before i mad the procedure describe in up text.

I hope this information is enough to solve the problem.
