I have a VAIO laptop with widescreen 1280x800. I have installed 11.10 on it. But it has some problem regarding the resolution. In the monitor setting, it doesn't have any 16:10 setting. Its only showing 3:4 resolutions.

Any guess what has caused this. I have tried 7.10, 8.10, 9.10 and 10.10. All supported 1280x800. This problem has arisen only now in 11.10.

Regards,

OK, my two cents. Everything is working fine here on my netbook (resolution of 1024x600), so it's probably something in your configuration. (yes, I know we have two different resolutions) – jrg Oct 15 '11 at 16:38
this might be some help. using xrandr askubuntu.com/questions/63863/… – duffydack Oct 15 '11 at 16:41
