I want to have both the ESC key and the caps lock key to act as an escape key. However, if I enable "make Caps Lock an additional ESC key" in the keyboard > layout > options, then the Caps Lock key works as if it was BOTH Caps Lock and Escape. Ie. it sendts CTRL-[ in Vi, but at the same time it continues to toggle case.

I have tried to fiddle with the settings in gconf-editor > desktop > gnome > peripherals > kbd, but to no avail.

How do I achieve the behavior I am looking for?
