Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

When running ubuntu using virtual box in full screen mode, is there anything I am missing in terms of the ubuntu experience? (I guess this would be mostly graphic wise)

I understand performance might be a tad laggy depending on the system, but I'm on a pretty powerful system.

Have you installed the guest additions? –  Thomas Boxley Sep 28 '11 at 0:08
Make sure you install guest additions and enable 3D acceleration in the VM, and you should be able to run full 3D unity. You experience will then be limited to whatever resources you allow the VM, and obviously how powerful your host machine is. –  Jayson Rowe Sep 28 '11 at 2:18
@Blankman It's hard for us to tell if you might be missing out on anything without further details of what you have now. A screenshot or video of your session would greatly improve this post. –  Christopher Kyle Horton Sep 28 '11 at 2:48
