I can't use my HP Printer in Oneiric Beta

Why would you download and install a printer driver from source? 3.11.7 is available in the package repositories of Ubuntu 11.10. – aquaherd Sep 27 '11 at 17:56

I think that the problem here is that you miss the gcc ensure that you have an internet connection and then do:

sudo apt-get install gcc

Please note that there is already a version of HPLIP in the Ubuntu Software Centre for Ubuntu 11.10, as you can see here:

This is correct on 11.10, with hplip 3.11.10:

Go Choose them: Ubuntu 11.04 laserjet hp laserjet 1000

Download and run in terminal: sh
