Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a weird little quandary. We have an older PC (Sony VAIO) with less than a gig of RAM. As such, I'm running Ubuntu 11 Classic (No Effects) on it.

We have both Google Chrome and Firefox installed on the computer. Up until two days ago, web forms were displaying perfectly. Now, text entries on web sites are not displaying (they appear as 5 pixel x 5 pixel dots that you can't enter text into). This happens on both web browsers.

What happened? How do I correct this issue?

Well, I'm not personally looking for an answer, because I stopped using this computer for Ubuntu. – JasonMc92 Apr 2 '12 at 0:14
