I've downloaded Google Chrome Beta from Google's website and installed it on my laptop running Ubuntu 11.04. Today I've read about the new Google Mail Offline App and tried to install it. But when I visit the Google Mail Offline App site to install it following message is shown to me.

Heads up! You're currently using an older version of Google Chrome. Update to the latest version to install items from the Chrome Web Store: Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar and select About Google Chrome Click Update now. If you don't see that, check these tips for updating Chrome. Google Chrome will update automatically and bring you right back here.

I double checked the version of Chrome and I'm currently running 14.0.835.109 beta which should be up to date I think.

... It's called a BETA for something! – RobinJ Sep 1 '11 at 9:04
Great comment!!! The same happens with the stable version 13.0.782.218. So the "it's beta" argument won't fit any more. – Flo Sep 1 '11 at 9:35
Should've mentioned that :p – RobinJ Sep 1 '11 at 15:24
I tried installing it from here chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/… and it works like a charm. – RobinJ Sep 1 '11 at 15:26
Unfortunately not for me. – Flo Sep 5 '11 at 12:00
