Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

With the default themes "new wave," and the Bisigi themes (from the PPA) "eco," "balanzan," and "wild-shine"--light themes with dark window decorations--the unity panel displays dark text on a dark background.

I tried changing the text[NORMAL] property as suggested here but from what I can tell that will change the font color elsewhere, as well. How is it that the Light themes manage to avoid this problem, but themes that haven't been designed with Unity in mind succumb to them? Is there a way to fix this?

I've noticed this behavior with New Wave, as well. Perhaps a bug should be filed, especially considering that it's a theme that comes with Ubuntu and is available from Appearance in plain sight. –  Christopher Kyle Horton Aug 7 '11 at 4:01
This question should instead be filed as a bug report, and as such is off-topic, thanks! How to report a bug. Regards, –  Ringtail Mar 30 '12 at 23:11
