Today I was trying to make a skype call on my HP G32 (Intel i5 ,radeon HD 5000), and I realized that the mic wasn't coming on. I'd be connected a Headset but I still couldn't get the mic to work.

Since I've installed (clean installation) Ubuntu 11.04 I've been using it to skype (call/video) with the mic without any special tweaking, and even without the ATI proprietary drivers.

I've tried installing the alsa as suggested here and it didn't work out. I ended up installing ATI drivers and still it's not working.

I don't remember touching anything that has to do with sound or mic configuration. How can I fix this?
