Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

After installing a screenlet in Ubuntu 11.04, it appears in the Unity panel as a running program wasting space (in my case, named FolderViewScreenlet.py), and I've found no way to hide it (aside of closing the screenlet, but that's beside the point)

Is there any way to restrict or hide the icon from the panel?

I take it that if you right click on the icon you cannot deselect Keep in menu? –  andybleaden Jul 25 '11 at 7:06

Nope, it's already deselected –  Diodax Jul 25 '11 at 13:03
