vague? If a site dedicated to Ubuntu does not have a sysadmin info, it's worthless! Not Ubuntu specific? Ubuntu IS A LINUX DISTRIBUTION. Many issues will overlap, but from a user point of view I want one place for it. I'm not going to research what is Ubuntu specific and what is not. – aviah Jul 31 '10 at 9:21
I'm voting to close this question as far too vague to be a real question. I'd be up for specific questions with use cases - for example "how do you backup your ubuntu LAMP server?" or "I run a mail server using postfix, are there any ongoing tasks I should be doing regularly?". backups. lots of people lose their data and regret not having regular backups. Schedule depends on needs. Often weekly full backup and daily incremental. There are lots of backup solutions available. It depends on the circumstances and features needed which one is best to use.

Well, making sure the kernel and packages are up to date is quite important. By default, the Update Manager checks for new packages daily.
