I tried ubuntu upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10, and 11.04. It was successful from 10.04 to 10.10, but while upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04, I felt something wrong, and stopped it. And I tried to re-run do-release-upgrade, but failed. Here are error messages.

Is there any way to re-run do-release-upgrade, or reset upgrade status?

Try running sudo dpkg --configure -a to clean up partially installed stuff, followed by apt-get update then apt-get upgrade.

  • great tip. this help people with broken do-release-upgrade which have already changed their sources.list to the new version - trying it now! Jul 31, 2013 at 1:02

This page - ubuntu site - says you can upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04, just need to follow the instructions.

You can try the following commands to clean your system: apt-get clean apt-get update

before trying to upgrade again.
