I just installed Ubuntu 11.04. The only problem is that I can't connect to the internet because of firmware missing for my network adapter. I'm using Linksys WUSB600N.

What steps should I perform to get my internet working? I'm total newbie.

Edit:

I have found this so far, but it says:

The instructions below do not work on Natty/11.04.

Edit #2:

I tried all that's written in here (link provided in last edit)... it doesn't work. I'm sad panda.

Anyway, maybe I should go to other Ubuntu version or even other distro? Its the only way... I need to get that network adapter to work.

Edit #3:

I assume that none can give me 100% working instructions. Anyway, any hint/pointer is highly appreciated!

there is a v1 and a v2 of that network adapter - which one are you using and is it 32bit or 64bit ubuntu? This bug report gives some natty workarounds for the v2: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/408165 – fossfreedom Jul 9 '11 at 17:17
@fossfreedom I'm using 64 bits version of Ubuntu. Adapter: version 2. – daGrevis Jul 9 '11 at 17:29
the last comment in that link I gave you looks promising. Give it a try. However reading through the bug report it says that both Windows 7 64bit and all linux 64bit has problems with that adapter. If you really cant buy another adapter and comment #85 doesnt help, I would suggest you try 32bit Ubuntu. – fossfreedom Jul 9 '11 at 18:00
