I got my Macbook Pro 2009 to successfully dual boot to Windows 7 and Yosemite. I installed Mint and it wouldn't boot so then I tried Ubuntu LTS. When I boot up and select Ubuntu in Refind, it hangs on a purple screen, might have a purple line at the top and then it goes to a screen of white and black squirrelly lines. I've attempted to fix it in Recovery but still not able to boot.

does it at all display the ubuntu load screen? – sbergeron Aug 1 '14 at 18:13
it does not. It is a black screen and sometimes has a purple line halfway across the top. – user311362 Aug 1 '14 at 22:00
