Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I currently have ubuntu 14.04 running. I have an admin account and a regular standard account. I'm trying to make it so that the standard user cannot change the desktop background. I'm not sure where to begin or how to do this.

Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks!

For those who are also having problems with this. I found a solution online where it will cause the background to change back to whatever you set it to be:

In startup applications add a new command:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture uri “file:///usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntu_1.jpg”
