I need an app that searches for a photo in a given directory based on similarity. I found a lot of applications that find duplicate photos but i need to do a couple of hundred searches like these every day. What I used to use i windows is dupdetector but it doesn't run with wine. Thanks.

Try dupeGuru.

dupeGuru is a tool to find duplicate files on your computer. It can scan either filenames or contents. The filename scan features a fuzzy matching algorithm that can find duplicate filenames even when they are not exactly the same.dupeGuru

You can download dupeGuru Picture Edition from here. Once downloaded, you can use Gdebi to install, or just press Ctrl+Alt+T on your keyboard to open Terminal. When it opens, run the command(s) below:

sudo dpkg -i <package_name>.deb
