I'm trying to put Ubuntu 14.04 on a network device by copying files from my OS to a drive on the network, but every time I try to connect, I get the error "Connection timed out." I can only access the drive in Windows, but I don't want a hard drive overload trying to copy all of the files straight to Windows. Is there a way to change the connection time-out? I use Ubuntu 14.04 and can only access the location via Ethernet. Wi-Fi fails every time.
