Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

It has only stated today after installing KDE's system settings and configuring it to make KDE apps look native . Firefox has started using a thinner font.

so how do i make it use the default fonts ?

For a fix, see the fourth item at http://www.webgapps.org/tutorials/firefox/troubleshooting/rendering-issues-and-solutions

Open the file ~/.fonts.conf with a text editor

gedit ~/.fonts.conf

then replace the content of that file with this . Save it and restart Firefox.

If you want a simple way of changing Firefox font, then use Theme Font & Size Changer extension.

webgapps link tells site is phasing out. Will it continue elsewhere? –  LIttle Ancient Forest Kami Feb 5 '13 at 15:18
