When I started up my computer today, I got the following message: error: no such device: dad66471-5aec-4a42-ae06-18d4d003626a. grub rescue>

I searched for this error, and it seems to be Ubuntu-related, so I figured I should post it here. The thing is, Ubuntu hasn't been installed on this computer in a long time. Windows 8.1 is all I use. I have no idea why this would just happen all of a sudden like this. I have an Ubuntu live CD and my Windows 8.1 disc, if that helps. I'm posting this from my Nintendo 3DS. Please help!

Boot from that live CD and try to run boot-repair that may help! help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair –  Null pointer Jun 26 at 17:41

@Null pointer: No luck. paste.ubuntu.com/7707420 –  Cleveland Rock Jun 26 at 19:18

I fixed the problem by installing Ubuntu and running Boot Repair again. It's a strange solution, but whatever works! –  Cleveland Rock Jun 26 at 22:27
