When I try to open up the User Accounts applet (either by using the icon in System Settings or by searching for it, it does not load. When doing it via System Settings the window locks up. When trying to search for it nothing appears to happen. I have tried rebooting and reinstalling User Accounts but the issue persists.

EDIT: I found out that it does eventually load, only after a long delay (greater than a few minutes but less than 4 hours).

What happens if you open a terminal and type: unity-control-center user-accounts? –  Jacob Vlijm Jun 21 '14 at 17:11
I found out that if I go to system settings and open it, it does open but only after a significant delay (somewhere between several minutes and several hours; I left the computer and came back and saw that it was open). Trying from the terminal just advances the cursor to the next line, the cursor remains a flashing white block, and I'm guessing that it will eventually load like it did from the GUI, just after a significant delay –  burndark Jun 22 '14 at 3:22
I found after trying this more that it does load up within 30 minutes. –  burndark Jun 25 '14 at 17:50
