Here is my /etc/default/grub:

# If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update
# /boot/grub/grub.cfg.

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

# Uncomment to disable graphical terminal (grub-pc only)
#GRUB_TERMINAL=console

# The resolution used on graphical terminal
# note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE
# you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo'
#GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480

# Uncomment if you don't want GRUB to pass "root=UUID=xxx" parameter to Linux
#GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true

# Uncomment to disable generation of recovery mode menu entries
#GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY="true"

# Uncomment to get a beep at grub start
#GRUB_INIT_TUNE="480 440 1"

I tried various things including:

How do I hide the GRUB menu showing up in the beginning of boot?

How to disable Grub's menu from showing up after failed boot

http://www.itworld.com/software/306238/disable-grub-boot-menu-ubuntu-1210

But I still get grub menu each time I boot.

My generated /boot/grub/grub.cfg:

# from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/default/grub

@Rinzwind That is the first thing I tried, but didnt work. Probably because this part of code in generated grub.cfg: set timeout_style=menu if [ "${timeout}" = 0 ]; then set timeout=10 fi –  umpirsky Jun 13 at 13:30

Hm, but there is in mine. It even does not respect when I put ` "GRUB_TIMEOUT=5"` it is still 10. –  umpirsky Jun 13 at 14:33

@Rinzwind Did you mean customizer? What to change? i.imgur.com/Kh0Xeej.png –  umpirsky Jun 13 at 18:31

"show menu" ... but it is off already too :( I gave NO idea why this is going wrong :( –  Rinzwind Jun 13 at 18:37

Is there a way to reset GRUB to default. –  umpirsky Jun 14 at 8:09
