I was wondering if its okay to install Ubuntu on my Macbook Air, and if it is okay please let me know the procedure. I would prefer to do it by NOT using reFind (not sure what the name is).

The following is my system specification.

Hardware Overview:

  • Model Name: MacBook Air
  • Model Identifier: MacBookAir6,2
  • Processor Name: Intel Core i5
  • Processor Speed: 1.3 GHz
  • Number of Processors: 1
  • Total Number of Cores: 2
  • L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

  • Memory: 8 GB

System Software Overview:

  • System Version: OS X 10.9.2 (13C1021)
  • Kernel Version: Darwin 13.1.0
  • Boot Volume: Macintosh HD
  • Boot Mode: Normal
