I cannot get the screen to blank in Ubuntu 14.04. I have set the lock screen to 1 minute. It never blanks. I have installed compiz manager and setup the unity plugin from info I read, this also does not help. I can type ctrl alt l to blank the screen which works. It then blanks properly after that until I reboot. Then it will not blank again.

Could some one please tell me how to get the screen to blank after a specified time when the system is idle like it used to pre 14.04. Thanks, Rob

can you add a screen from Brightness & Lock window? just upload it and post a link to preview. –  JohnnyEnglish May 30 at 0:49

Hi I can't as I don't have the reputation of 10. I have set the time out to 1 minute and the lock is off. Require password is off and Show notifications is off. It just does not blank after 1 minute unless I type ctrl alt l. –  Rob May 31 at 9:02

you can upload it just to image uploader like this bild.me and post a link in a comment –  JohnnyEnglish May 31 at 14:28
