I have got a Lenovo U-510 with pre-installed windows 8, and I want to have Ubuntu installed in parallel. I installed Ubuntu 12.04, and after that I did Grub repair through online support, since my system was booting directly to Windows.

After the Grub repair was performed, the real problem started for me

windows boot manager has been blocked by current security policy

Can anyone help me in sorting this issue out, apart from giving me the suggestion to use a recovery device?

This is the possible cause - Boot-Repair Ubuntu 12.04.3 whilst leaving SecureBoot on IF that doesn't resolve the issue, please mention whether you have secure boot enabled, whether you installed ubuntu 64bit version which support secure boot, whether you installed ubuntu in EFI mode. You should take a look here as well Installing Ubuntu on a Pre-Installed Windows 8 (64-bit) System (UEFI Supported) –  Web-E May 27 '14 at 11:45
I am sure that i have installed ubuntu 64bit version, but i am not sure whether it supports secure boot, and i installed ubuntu in EFI mode only... –  Srinivas May 27 '14 at 12:02
